iHEARTMEDIA AC WNIC (100.3)/DETROIT on-air personality JAY TOWERS, who hosts the morning show and anchors TV's "FOX 2 News Mornings," had a childhood wish come true when he earned a cameo in the brand-new "Batman v. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" movie as a TV reporter for fictional News 8.
A lifelong Superman fan, whose office is filled with Man Of Steel memorabilia, can be spotted in a scene at the DAILY PLANET offices, where Lois Lane (AMY ADAMS) and Superman (HENRY CAVILL) watch him give a report on Metropolis.
TOWERS has been a die-hard Superman aficionado since he was four, when his parents took him to see the original "Superman" with CHRISTOPHER REEVE, and the DC superhero evokes memories of his happy childhood, according to a story in the DETROIT FREE PRESS.
TOWERS said this was the payoff "for all the teasing I've received over the years from family and friends" for his obsession. Director ZACK SNYDER, knowing JAY's level of fandom, made sure to introduce him to CAVILL. The filmmaker told TOWERS he's seen him on FOX 2 a few times, and even asked his input during the filming of his scene.
