FRIENDS OF PUBLIC RADIO News-Talk-Jazz-Triple A WHQR and Classical WHQR-HD2-W224CX/WILMINGTON, NC has recovered from a "ransomware" attack on the station's computers.
The WILMINGTON STAR-NEWS reports that four of the station's computers were taken over with ransom messages on MARCH 16th, and HOOKS SYSTEMS was called in to fix the problem without the station having to pay a ransom to regain access to its files. The station says that some evidence points to the attack originating in LATVIA.
In less stressful WHQR news, NPR Political Correspondent DON GONYEA will appear at the station's annual Fundraising Luncheon on APRIL 13th at the WILMINGTON HILTON RIVERSIDE.
