Multiple news sources report that BRANDY has filed a lawsuit against her record label CHAMELEON ENTERTAINMENT. She is suing for $1 million in compensatory damages.
In the complaint, BRANDY alleges the label will not pay for her to record new albums or allow her to otherwise release music to her fans.
She signed a five-album deal with CHAMELEON in 2011 and released the first album, TWO-ELEVEN, the following year. The allegations suggest CHAMELEON tried to prevent the release of her next LP. Pursuant to their agreement, it is alleged the label had agreed to pay $600,000 in recording costs. The suit also claims 10% of the bill was due from the label upon notice that BRANDY had begun recording the second album.
