98.7 AMP Radio/Detroit Sets Up Another 'Gown Town'

CBS RADIO Top 40 WDZH (98.7 AMP RADIO)/DETROIT is hosting its very successful “Gown Town,” to help teens who want to be "the belle of the ball at their proms. On SUNDAY, APRIL 10th, thousands of lightly used formal and cocktail dresses will be distributed at OAKLAND MALL to girls who may not be able to afford a dress for prom. All dresses will be professionally dry-cleaned.
Around 400 local teens picked out their perfect outfit last year. Dresses can cost hundreds of dollars and then additional costs, such as prom tickets and transportation, can cause a large financial burden for some girls and their families.
“Prom is a rite of passage for many teens, celebrating the end of their high school career. We want to ensure that every girl gets to shine on her special night in a dress she feels beautiful in,” CBS RADIO/DETROIT SVP/Market Manager DEBBIE KENYON said. “Our listeners inspire us with their generosity, donating more and more dresses each year, and ensuring the success of Gown Town for our deserving teens.”
Teachers, principals, school sports coaches and other adults who mentor teens are all encouraged to tell girls who might be in need of a prom dress about the program. For more information, go to www.987AMPRADIO.COM.
