FAMILY LIFE Contemporary Christian WCIS (105.1) has debuted in the SYRACUSE market taking place of Country THE WOLF, which takes over the call letters WSEN and can now be heard at 92.1
FAMILY LIFE, a listener-supported CHRISTIAN radio network based in BATH, N.Y., began broadcasting its contemporary CHRISTIAN music and programming on the 50,000-watt station last MONDAY, APRIL 4th to 750,000 new potential listeners in the area.
In addition to WCIS, FAMILY LIFE acquired 98.3 FM, a translator station that covers a concentrated area in downtown SYRACUSE. FAMILY LIFE can be heard on both stations, 98.3 FM and 105.1 FM, as of TODAY.
The stations came as part of a recent deal after FAMILY LIFE acquired WSEN, the former golden oldies station out of BALDWINSVILLE, N.Y., from LEATHERSTOCKING MEDIA GROUP. After the purchase, FAMILY entered an agreement with FOXFUR COMMUNICATIONS to exchange the station for 98.3 FM and WCIS in SYRACUSE, along with WCIO 96.7, covering OSWEGO COUNTY. In addition, FAMILY LIFE purchased the former WMCR (MIX 106)/ONEIDA from LEATHERSTOCKING MEDIA GROUP. All four signals combined add one million more potential listeners to FAMILY LIFE’s audience.
FAMILY LIFE Pres./Network Manager RICK SNAVELY commented: “We are very excited about serving SYRACUSE. Over the past several years, we’ve had numerous requests to bring FAMILY LIFE to this area. We continually knocked, but the door didn’t open, until now. We are so grateful because people are growing more and more desperate for hope in this world. We believe JESUS CHRIST is that hope, and spreading and celebrating the GOSPEL with these communities is a service we thankfully and joyfully provide.”
