According to CBS RADIO News KNX (1070)/LOS ANGELES and several other news sources, PRINCE has left no will for what is estimated as a $300 million estate. CNN MONEY reports that his sister, TYKA NELSON, has filed court documents for a probate case in MINNESOTA's CARVER COUNTY, the location of PAISLEY PARK.
In the filing, she claims, "I do not know of the existence of a Will and have no reason to believe that the Decedent executed testamentary documents in any form."
TYKA NELSON is the only full sibling of PRINCE, who was not married and lost his only child, in OCTOBER, 1996, to a rare disease, PFEIFFER SYNDROME, after just seven days. BOY GREGORY was born after his marriage to MAYTE GARCIA on VALENTINE'S DAY 1996. They separated in 1999.
PRINCE and TYKA have halfsiblings, JOHN NELSON, NORRINE NELSON, SHARO NELSON, ALFRED JACKSON and OMARK BAKER, all of whom are also named in the petition as heirs. TYKA has requested a special administrator be appointed to deal with the singer's assets.
Without a will, MINNESOTA law states that his estate would go to his sister and his half-siblings.
