BEGIN's PINE TREE BROADCASTING, LLC's closing on the purchase of Oldies WGUY-A/VEAZIE, ME and W231CH/BANGOR, ME from INNOVATIVE ADVERTISING CONSULTANTS INC. and News-Talk WWNZ-A and News-Talk WNZS-A/VEAZIE-BANGOR, ME from WATERFRONT COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has led to a format flip at WWNZ. PINE TREE BROADCASTING WWNZ-A now changed to Classic Country and is branded as "THE COUNTRY ROAD."

ABC Affiliate WVII-TV (ABC 7)-FOX affiliate WFVX-LD-WVII-DT2 (FOX 22)/BANGOR reports that GM PAUL DUPUIS said of the new format, which launched this weekend, "It's just something you can get 24/7, and I had one person tell me today, 'Finally, I can hear this without having to pay for satellite radio,' and I said, 'you bet!'"
