SOUNDCLOUD GO has now launched in the U.K., as it looks to compete with streaming services such as SPOTIFY and APPLE MUSIC after landing in the U.S. back in MARCH (NET NEWS 3/29).
For now, SOUNDCLOUD GO is targeting U.K. and IRELAND, with monthly subscription fees of £9.99 in BRITAIN and €9.99 in IRELAND. Users will be able to sign up for a free 30-day trial period, after which they will be charged. Along with ad-free streaming, users will also be able to play back the SoundCloud library offline.
SOUNDCLOUD is targeting users who wish to discover new music, new talent to showcase their tunes, and DJ mixes of popular titles.
In DECEMBER, 2014, SOUNDCLOUD announced that it had 175 million unique monthly users. SPOTIFY announced it had 30 million paying users as of JANUARY and APPLE MUSIC has 13 million.
