Kudos and congratulations to WARNER BROS./TEAM WEA VP/Promotion JORDAN PETTIT, W.A.R. VP/Promotion CHRIS PALMER, and the rest of TEAM FTL. The group exceeded their goal of $10,000 raised (NET NEWS 5/6) as they participated in the TJ MARTELL FOUNDATION's DOWNTOWN DERBY BED RACE in NASHVILLE over the WEEKEND. The team participated in honor of the late LINDSAY WALLEMAN, whose birthday would have been SUNDAY, MAY 1st (NET NEWS 4/12).
"We won the 'Spirit Award,' which basically means 'your bed was ridiculous, but you have great spirit!'" PALMER told ALL ACCESS. "ERIN CREIGHTON and ABBY LAW did an amazing job decorating the bed. JORDAN, DARRIN KOCH, and I were there purely for muscle! My wife, DANA, and daughter AILEE also came out for moral support (and to make sure we had Bloody Marys)! Our team was the second-biggest fundraiser, and that was the most important thing. One hundred percent of money raised by FTL SARCOMA FUND goes to Sarcoma research, and that was LINDSAY's wish."
"We are extremely grateful for being surrounded by a kindhearted industry that continues to generously support this worthwhile cause," PETTIT told ALL ACCESS. "It's been three years since the inception of FTL SARCOMA FUND, and we have raise $300,000 during this time frame specifically for Sarcoma research. We were built for fundraising this year, not speed -- maybe next year? DAN SMYERS of [W.A.R. duo] DAN + SHAY showed up on race day and provided some added muscle in pushing the FTL bed. ["NASH NIGHTS LIVE" host] SHAWN PARR was the emcee of the event, and TJ MARTELL FOUNDATION rasied a total of $70,000 for cancer research."
Additional kudos to other top fundraisers from the event, CAA's JACQUE SHELTON, SOUNDCHECK's KINDAL JUMPER, and WRENSONG PUBLISHING's MAURNA DONOVAN.
