In other filings with the FCC, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION has applied for a Silent STA for KOKX-F/KEOKUK, IA due to "weather, missing parts and needed electrical work" along with "access issues." EMF has also closed on the sale of W260CK/SLIDELL, LA to DELTA MEDIA CORPORATION for $35,000; The buyer plans to move the facility to rebroadcast an AM station on the translator.
POSTVILLE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE has requested an extension of its Silent STA for KPVL/POSTVILLE, IA due to losing its lease on the town water tower.
VERMONT PUBLIC RADIO has filed for an extension of its Silent STA for WVTX/COLCHESTER, VT while it looks for a new transmitter site.

And AMERICAN FAMILY ASSOCIATION has closed on the sale of K226BZ/TALLULAH, LA (now W278CE/BILOXI) to ALPHA MEDIA LICENSEE LLC for $35,000. The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast Sports WXBD-A (1490 THE CHAMP)/BILOXI.
Also, WILLIAMS COMMUNICATIONS, INC.'s failure to pay a delinquent debt to the FCC has torpedoed COX MEDIA GROUP's application to upgrade News-Talk WSBB/DORAVILLE-ATLANTA, GA. WSBB's upgrade would have put the station on sister AC WSB-F (B98.5)/ATLANTA's tower as a directional Class C1 at 100,000 watts but was contingent upon WILLIAMS modifying co-channel Country WHMA-F/HOBSON CITY, AL to move to ALEXANDRIA, LA and change to 95.3 FM, still as a Class A facility. But the latter change was dismissed "via public notice with no letter sent for failure to pay the delinquent debt," according to a note in the FCC's Daily Digest.
And GEORGIA-CAROLINA RADIOCASTING COMPANY, LLC's sale of Country WSGC-A/ELBERTON, GA and Country WSGC-F/TIGNALL, GA to J. SCOTT SMITH's RADIO ELBERTON, LLC for $175,000 and W259CN (formerly W287CM)/ELBERTON, GA to the same buyer for $50,000 have been cancelled.
