WOR/New York To Air Play-By-Play Of 1986 World Series Game 6 On Thursday

iHEARTMEDIA News-Talk WOR-A/NEW YORK will rebroadcast the legendary (or, for RED SOX fans, infamous) Game 6 of the 1986 WORLD SERIES on THURSDAY (5/26) as a part of the weekend's festivities at CITI FIELD honoring the 1986 World Champion NEW YORK METS.
The Game 6 broadcast, which culminated in BILL BUCKNER's error on MOOKIE WILSON's grounder to first that allowed the METS' winning run (RAY KNIGHT) to score, will begin at 6p (ET) with an hour-long pre-game special hosted by "SPORTS ZONE" host PETE MCCARTHY with METS broadcasters HOWIE ROSE, JOSH LEWIN, and WAYNE RANDAZZO, and interviews with '86 METS WILSON, KNIGHT, KEITH HERNANDEZ, and RON DARLING, plus former METS broadcaster GARY THORNE, who, along with the late BOB MURPHY, called the game 30 years ago.
"We all know how the game turned out, and we've all heard BOB MURPHY's epic call countless times; but to get the full flavor of one of the greatest moments in METS history you really need to listen from start to finish,” said ROSE. “Allow yourself to escape to a moment in time when every pitch and every play would define the METS season, providing proper context to a comeback that somehow seems even harder to believe today than it did thirty years ago."
