Doug Banks Posthumously Inducted Into The Illinois Broadcasters Association Hall Of Fame

The late DOUG BANKS (NET NEWS 4/11) was posthumously inducted into the ILLINOIS BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION HALL OF FAME. The announcement was made by former iHEARTMEDIA VP/GM MARV DYSON at the “REMEMBERING DOUG BANKS” public tribute on SATURDAY (5/21).
iHEARTMEDIA/CHICAGO Urban WGCI (107.5), WVAZ (V103), and Inspiration 1390 held the event at the HAROLD WASHINGTON CULTURAL CENTER in BRONZEVILLE on the South Side of CHICAGO. WVAZ personalities JOE SOTO and RAMONSKI LUV served as emcees.
Pres. OBAMA sent an acknowledgement of BANKS’s importance to broadcasting and CHICAGO Mayor RAHM EMANUEL issued a statement of recognition; in addition, the Mayor declared SATURDAY MAY 21st, DOUG BANKS DAY.
