Black Diamond Broadcast Holdings Buys 7 Full-Power Michigan Stations, 1 Translator From Northern Star

In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database, MIKE CHIRES and NORM MCKEE's BLACK DIAMOND BROADCAST HOLDINGS, LLC is buying seven full-power radio stations and one FM translator in MICHIGAN from DEL REYNOLDS' NORTHERN STAR BROADCASTING for $1,950,000.  The stations include Classic Country WCBY-A, Active Rock WGFM (ROCK 105), and Classic Rock WCHY (THE BEAR)/CHEBOYGAN; Classic Rock WGFN (THE BEAR) and AC WQEZ (EASY 95.5)/GLEN ARBOR; Country WMKC (102.9 BIG COUNTRY HITS)/INDIAN RIVER; AC WOEZ (EASY 106.3)/ONAWAY; and W264AF (rebroadcasting WCBY-A)/ST. IGNACE.  JASON JAMES of PATRICK COMMUNICATIONS served as exclusive broker of the deal.

Receiver Appointed For 5 Missouri Stations

A receiver has been appointed by a MISSOURI court for a group of five stations. DENNIS WALLACE has been named receiver for BROADCAST MANAGEMENT, INC., licensee of Silent KQXQ-A/CUBA, MO; TWENTY-ONE SOUND COMMUNICATIONS, INC., licensee of Alternative KQQX (93X)/HERMANN, MO and Triple A KKAC (104.3 FMX)/VANDALIA, MO; and BROADCAST ENTERPRISES, INC., licensee of Silent KXQX/ELSBERRY, MO and Silent KIKX/WHEATLAND, MO. The appointment was over the objection of the licensees' owner RANDY WACHTER, who the filing says "has refused to cooperate" with the transfer filings. EAST CENTRAL BROADCASTING, LLC and LOUIS B. ECKELCAMP, III filed a case against WACHTER's companies for defaulting on loans they and UNITED BANK OF UNION originated.

In other filings with the FCC, WHEELER BROADCASTING, INC. is selling Classic Hits KXAA (100.3 THE WIND)/CLE ELUM, WA to DIVINE MERCY BROADCASTING for $185.000.

LAWRENCE LEE AMUNDSEN is selling K205ET/BIG PINE, CA to DALE A. GANSKE for $20,000.  

JENNIFER CREMEENS has requested a Silent STA for KJJB/EAGLE LAKE, TX while it builds at its new site.

PECOS VALLEY BROADCASTING CO. has applied for a Silent STA for K229AS/CARLSBAD, NM pending its move to rebroadcast KSVP-A/ARTESIA, NM.

FAMILY WORSHIP CENTER CHURCH, INC. has filed for a Silent STA for W256CX/DUNN, LA while it moves to CAMDEN, AR to rebroadcast KNHD-A.

SCHURZ COMMUNICATIONS' WASK, INC. has closed on the sale of Sports WASK-A (ESPN RADIO 1450), Rock WKHY, and Country WKOA (K105)/LAFAYETTE, IN; Classic Hits WASK-F/BATTLE GROUND, IN; and Top 40 WXXB (B 102.9)/DELPHI, IN to NEUHOFF FAMILY LIMITED PARTNERSHIP for $8 million.

LYLE REYNOLDS' RED MOUNTAIN VENTURES, LLC has closed on the assignment of W243AP/MOORESVILLE, AL to brother LEE S. REYNOLDS' SHELBY BROADCAST ASSOCIATES, LLC as a gift.

EDGEWATER BROADCASTING, INC. has closed on the sale of K257FL/GREAT FALLS, MT to STARADIO CORP. for $35,000.

And CORNERSTONE COMMUNITY RADIO, INC. has closed on the sale of W270CK/MELBOURNE, FL (now W299CI/TAMPA) to MANUEL E. ARROYO for $30,000.  The buyer plans to move the translator to rebroadcast Regional Mexican WAMA-A (LA LEY 1550)/TAMPA.
