SIERRA H R&B Oldies KAJM (MEGA 104.3)/PHOENIX celebrated 15 years of playing “old school” hits on the ARIZONA radio airwaves by hosting a listener appreciation concert this past FRIDAY night (5/27) at PHOENIX’s original CELEBRITY THEATRE. The MEGA 104.3 Birthday Bash served up timeless jams to a capacity crowd performed live by some of the most electrifying funk bands of their era including CONFUNKSHUN, ZAPP BAND, LAKESIDE, MIDNIGHT STARR, plus PRINCE’s “Purple Rain” nemesis MORRIS DAY AND THE TIME.
KAJM PD/afternooner SUPER SNAKE said, “All things purple, fishnets, black pantyhoses were out in full force last FRIDAY night. The sexy and grown were ready to show everyone how they get down. A special shout to MORRIS DAY for the video tribute to PRINCE. Very classy and from the heart. Of course, we couldn’t have done this without our loyal listeners. Just ask around, there’s a real hunger in the VALLEY for great funky music. We at MEGA 104.3 aim to feed that need, ya dig!”
KAJM GM MICHAEL MALLACE adds, “Fifteen years has never felt so good. This year in particular is extra special for us. Our listeners have become a part of our family. The capacity turn-out at the birthday bash truly showed the strength of the music being played on KAJM. Under the programming leadership of SUPER SNAKE, I’m excited about what’s around the corner for MEGA 104.3. Here’s to many more years of great music!"
