LEARFIELD's radio network for TEXAS A&M sports has new HOUSTON affiliates, GOW MEDIA Sports KFNC (97.5 ESPN HOUSTON) and Sports KGOW-A (YAHOO! SPORTS RADIO 1560). GOW and LEARFIELD have inked a five-year deal for affiliation covering the HOUSTON market; KFNC will air AGGIES football and men's basketball, plus coaches' shows and daily updates, while KGOW will simulcast select football games and will air the daily updates and rebroadcasts of the coaches' shows.
“We’re thrilled to add TEXAS A&M Athletics to our 97.5 FM lineup,” said GOW MEDIA CEO DAVID GOW. “We are excited to participate in the passion and culture of the AGGIES and couldn’t be more pleased to partner with LEARFIELD on the broadcasts.”
“The greater HOUSTON area is incredibly important to TEXAS A&M, given the large number of AGGIES across the region and close proximity to Aggieland,” said TEXAS A&M Sr. Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs JASON COOK. “GOW MEDIA’s large broadcast footprint and its strategic affiliations with ESPN and YAHOO! SPORTS provide a tremendous advantage as we reach TEXAS A&M and SEC fans throughout the region and grow our fanbase even further.”
