GLOBAL INTERACTIVE MEDIA, INC, a BELIZE-incorporated company that sued broadcasters over patents for displaying playlists and programming listings on websites, has settled its suits with ENTERCOM, HUBBARD, A&E TELEVISION NETWORKS, VIGGLE, TIME WARNER CABLE, REELZ CHANNEL and SCRIPPS NETWORKS INTERACTIVE, and HBO.
A suit against TUNEIN is going to mediation, while a suit against YAHOO! is active and the defendant has received an extension of time to answer. Terms of the dismissals, which were made with prejudice, were not disclosed.
The suits were all filed in late 2015 except for the YAHOO! suit (filed in APRIL 2016); they alleged violations of patents that covered automated programming and music information displayed on websites.
