CBS RADIO Sports WSCR-A (670 THE SCORE)/CHICAGO afternoon co-host TERRY BOERS will miss most of the SUMMER while he recuperated from a surgical procedure, reports CHICAGOLAND RADIO AND MEDIA.
The site reports that BOERS told listeners WEDNESDAY afternoon that he will be "gone for a while. There's a medical thing that has arisen that I have to take care of. I don't do a lot of surgeries that aren't elective, that's for sure. I haven't done many over the years. This one is not one of those -- this is one HAS to be done. So I will be gone right around two months. I will try to do better than that. I do not want to be gone two months. I want to be back here." After a joking exchange with co-host DAN BERNSTEIN in which BOERS denied having been fired, the situation was termed "nothing that's immediately life-threatening."
Guest co-hosts will sit in with BERNSTEIN while BOERS is out, starting with the suburban DAILY HERALD's BARRY ROZNER.
