Mike Violette Exits WGAN/Portland, ME

SAGA News-Talk WGAN-A-W288CU/PORTLAND, ME-WGIN-A/BIDDEFORD, ME morning co-host MIKE VIOLETTE has exited the station after 12 years, reports the PORTLAND PRESS HERALD.

VIOLETTE, who co-hosted the morning "WGAN MORNING NEWS" block with KEN ALTSHULER, told the paper that he asked to be released from his contract because he felt it was time for a change, and the station let him go; he has been off the air since JUNE 2nd.  The station says that an announcement of changes to the morning show will be made around 5p (ET) TODAY during HOWIE CARR's syndicated show, which will broadcast from WGAN's studios.
