KRFE INC. EZ Listening KRFE-A/LUBBOCK Owner/host WADE WILKS is has been getting death threats after making a controversial FACEBOOK [Currently Offline] post about the terror attack in ORLANDO this week.
KCBD-TV reports, "Part of the post said that clubgoers at PULSE were 'getting lit, using illegal drugs and spreading STDs'."
WILKES also commented on a speech that President OBAMA made in the wake of the massacre.
PFLAG Board Member GRACE ROGERS told TV10 WILKES' comments were deeply offensive. "There is something called decorum," she said. "It means when a statement or an action fits its time and place, and what WADE says in his comment does not fit the time and place, when we just suffered the largest mass murder in UNITED STATES history."
Crosstown KFMX staffer WES NESSMAN told the station, "He says he respects WILKES right to say whatever he wants, but he does not agree."
"I just want people to know that that's not how most people in LUBBOCK are," said NESSMAN. "There's a large portion of us who do not subscribe to this."
