BIG MACHINE RECORDS artist TIM MCGRAW has spawned a movement with his hit song, "Humble And Kind." Originally, CUMULUS Country KIIM/TUCSON hosted a "HUMBLE AND KIND WEEK" at last MONTH (NET NEWS 5/31) spotlighting local nonprofits each day and encouraging listeners to go out of their way to be kind to others. Then, last WEEK, SCRIPPS Country KVOO/TULSA launched a "HUMBLE AND KIND WEEK" asking listeners to pledge to spread goodness to others, even sharing a message from MCGRAW himself via FACEBOOK.
This WEEK, HUBBARD BROADCASTING Country WIL/ST. LOUIS morning show "BUD AND BROADWAY" will host their own "HUMBLE AND KIND WEEK." The team is pledging to be humble and kind and asking their ST. LOUIS listeners to join their efforts to create at least 1,000 acts of kindness and selflessness during the week. Listeners can take the "HUMBLE AND KIND WEEK" pledge on the station FACEBOOK page and are encouraged to call in during the "BUD AND BROADWAY" show each morning with reports of their random acts of kindness, suggestions on how people can volunteer within the ST. LOUIS area, and to share ideas on ways the community can be humble and kind to one another during the week-long campaign. "We have to change the tone of this country from top to bottom, and the best way to start is to humble ourselves and be kind to one another," said BROADWAY. "Our prayer is that, during this week, anger would be replaced with kindness, and that what starts in ST. LOUIS would spread across MISSOURI, ILLINOIS, and beyond."
