BMG has acquired the recording assets of NEW YORK-based independent label THE END RECORDS. The label, established in 1988, specializes in rock, metal, indie and electronic music and has represented the likes of BETTER THAN EZRA, BILLY TALENT, DEAD LETTER CIRCUS, EVERCLEAR, HIM, HINDER, PETULA CLARK, TERRORIZER, THE ZOMBIES, AMERICAN SHARKS and TRAPT.
BMG is acquiring the label’s entire catalogue, as well as its rights to future recordings. Upcoming releases on the label include BILLY TALENT’s fifth studio album Afraid Of Heights; BILLY TALENT is opening for GUNS N’ ROSES next month (JULY). Despite the acquisition of its recorded assets, THE END RECORDS will continue relationships with artists while retaining its own offices and staff.
"I have been very impressed with BMG and its amazing team," CEO ANDREAS KATSAMBAS said. "It is clear we share the same vision for artists and label partners. This is the start of a great relationship."
“BMG continues to invest in the future of music and build our presence in recordings," BMG US Pres./Creative & Marketing LAURENT HUBERT said. "ANDREAS KATSAMBAS has built a strong catalogue at THE END RECORDS and we look forward to working with its clients.”
