CBS RADIO Top 40 KLUC (98.5)/LAS VEGAS morning show host CHET BUCHANAN will be presented with "The Best Of The SILVER STATE XIV" HUMANITARIAN AWARD for his numerous charitable activities. BUCHANAN sits on the Board of Trustees for HELP of SOUTHERN NEVADA, VARIETY – THE CHILDREN'S CHARITY and the CANDLELIGHTERS CHILDHOOD CANCER FOUNDATION OF NEVADA and hosts the annual CHET BUCHANAN CANDLELIGHTERS 5k "Race For Our Kids."
Commented BUCHANAN: “It’s an honor to be recognized, but this is truly an award to be shared with my 98.5 KLUC family, as well as with my many friends, corporate partners and the people I am humbled to serve with every day, who simply want to do something good. Not to mention my beautiful, long suffering and extremely patient wife.”
For 12 days every DECEMBER, BUCHANAN lives atop a 30-foot scaffold for the 98.5 KLUC CHET BUCHANAN & THE MORNING ZOO TOY DRIVE which, during its 17 years to date as the country's largest, has raised over an estimated $15 million in toys, bikes, gift cards and cash donations.
