KCUR/Kansas City News Anchor Steve Bell Dies At 77

UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI News-Talk KCUR/KANSAS CITY news anchor STEVE BELL, a fixture in radio news and talk in the market for decades, died MONDAY (7/18) after collapsing in the station newsroom while preparing the afternoon newscasts, the station has reported.
BELL was 77.
Born HENRY ASBELL, BELL's career started at KANU/LAWRENCE, KS in 1958, and, over the years, he hosted at several stations in KANSAS CITY, including KUDL, KBEY, KLSI, and KMBZ-A before joining KCUR in 2000; he was also known for voiceovers (including serving as the voice of PBS affiliate KCPT-TV) and spent 15 years practicing as a psychologist.
