The NHL's FLORIDA PANTHERS have reached an agreement on a multi-year contract extension with CBS RADIO Sports WQAM-A/MIAMI. DOUG PLAGENS and BILL LINDSAY will be back to call the games for the coming season, and PLAGENS will host a weekend show during the season, while sister Country WKIS and Top 40 WPOW (POWER 96) will offer promotional opportunities. In addition, game coverage will include a 30-minute pre-game show and 15-minute post-game show, and the station will launch "PANTHERS WEDNESDAY" features including head coach GERARD GALLANT appearing on JOE ROSE's morning show, front office personnel on the midday show, and player guests on the afternoon show.
“SPORTS RADIO 560 WQAM and CBS RADIO MIAMI have been excellent partners,” PANTHERS Exec. Chairman PETER LUUKKO said. “We are glad that we could expand our relationship beyond game action to even more exclusive interviews throughout the week with coaches, players and front office staff as well as more digital content coverage. CBS RADIO MIAMI has already been a strong supporter of PANTHERS hockey and we look forward to continuing to build on our mutually beneficial partnership.”
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership with the FLORIDA PANTHERS on this multi-year deal,” added WQAM PD RYAN MAGUIRE. “PANTHERS fans across SOUTH FLORIDA will have coverage that is second-to-none not just on game nights, but throughout the week on WQAM. It's an exciting time to be a PANTHERS fan right now and to be affiliated with this great young team that is on the rise!”
