SXSW Announces Keynote Speakers For 2017 Event

SOUTH BY SOUTHWEST CONFERENCE and FESTIVALS, slated for AUSTIN, TX, MARCH 10th through 19th, 2017, announced its first set of keynote and featured speakers, which includes "Transparent" creator JILL SOLOWAY and basketball great MAGIC JOHNSON, among others. The speakers cut a wide swath across the tech, film, music, television, business, sports and journalism fields. The other announced keynote speaker will be geneticisit JENNIFER DOUDNA, while featured speakers include N.Y. TIMES best-selling author DAN LYONS, OPENWATER founder/chairman MARY LOU JEPSEN, PINTEREST's CANDICE MORGAN, former "Mythbusters" host ADAM SAVAGE, PUSSY RIOT's NADYA TOLOKONNIKOVA, media personality INGRID VANDERVELDT, angel investor GARY VANYNERCHUK and REWARD STYLE co-founder AMBER VENZ BOX. 

New for 2017, the INTERACTIVE, FILM and MUSIC badges will now include expanded access to more of the SXSW CONFERENCE & FESTIVALS experience. Attendees will still receive primary entry to programming associated with their badge-type, but can now enjoy secondary access to most other SXSW events.

SXSW will open for registration and press accreditation on AUGUST 1st at sxsw.com.
