After two and three months on the job, respectively, ANNIE SANDOR and MARA SIDWEBER have apparently been officially welcomed to the CAPITOL NASHVILLE staff. In an anti-climactic press release issued TODAY (8/1), the label group confirmed that SANDOR has been appointed as Dir./SOUTHEAST Promotion (NET NEWS 6/23) and SIDWEBER has been named Dir./SOUTHWEST Promotion (NET NEWS 5/25). It appears that both have decided to stay after several weeks on the road, #1 songs, and most-added weeks.
"ANNIE's reputation with programmers in the SOUTHEAST and her knowledge of both radio and records makes her the perfect replacement for that other guy," quipped CAPITOL NASHVILLE VP/Promotion BOBBY YOUNG, whom SANDOR replaces in the role. "I'm [also] very excited to welcome MARA back home to the CAPITOL team. Her relationships with radio combined with her passion for our artists are a winning combination. Both ANNIE in SOUTHEAST and MARA in the SOUTHWEST are perfect additions for this #1 rock star team."
Said SANDOR, "I've known MIKE DUNGAN and ROYCE RISSER for years, and I admire what they've built at UMG. I cannot wait to work with BOBBY and the best team in the business." Added SIDWEBER, "Words cannot convey how elated I am to rejoin the powerhouse that is CAPITOL NASHVILLE. I am grateful, honored, and proud to call all of the incredible people at UMG my friends, and now my teammates. There is absolutely no place I would rather be."
