In a policy change, NIELSEN has told subscribers that “Total Line Reporting,” will be available only to "qualified NIELSEN AUDIO" subscribing radio stations "in good standing.”
A NIELSEN spokesperson told ALL ACCESS, "NIELSEN AUDIO is deeply committed to providing subscribers with measurement services and insights that they can use to transact audio advertising. To better define the value of our services, we are taking steps to more clearly differentiate between what subscribers receive from NIELSEN AUDIO measurement versus non-subscribers. Starting with the FALL 2016 Diary survey and the OCTOBER 2016 PPM survey period, Total Line Reporting for simulcast stations will only be available to NIELSEN AUDIO subscribers. Stations that do not subscribe, stations that do not simulcast or those that do not wish to request Total Line Reporting will be reported individually. This is one step in a series of initiatives that NIELSEN AUDIO is taking to maximize its value for subscribers."
