RIVERBEND COMMUNICATIONS Country KTHK (105.5/105.9 THE HAWK)/IDAHO FALLS, ID helped one listener fulfill a lifetime dream recently by introducing him to CAPITOL NASHVILLE artist KEITH URBAN. BOISE, ID native BOBBY CARVER is a 45-year-old URBAN fan who was born with Down Syndrome and who idolizes URBAN.
After CARVER's sister, NICOLE YOUNG, started an online campaign to help her brother meet the artist he considers his "best friend," at a "RIPCORD WORLD TOUR" stop in POCATELLO, ID, KTHK PD DON JARRETT caught wind of the story and stepped in to help. "BOBBY is KEITH URBAN's biggest fan," JARRETT told EAST IDAHO NEWS. "As far as he's concerned, they are best friends. I thought, 'If his best friend is coming to town, then they need to meet each other.'" Last FRIDAY (8/5), YOUNG and CARVER made a three hour drive from BOISE to attend URBAN's concert, and upon arriving, JARRETT took his own backstage pass and gave it to CARVER so that CARVER could meet URBAN in a private hour-long backstage setting with other VIP attendees. "It was such a good moment -- to see that smile on his face," said JARRETT. "It was priceless." See the full story in a video clip here.
