Nielsen PPM Analysis Show Country Down Year-To-Year Again In July

According to NIELSEN INSIGHTS, Country held steady at 7.7 among persons 6+ in the recently released JULY PPM results when compared to JUNE, helping it rank behind Top 40 and News/Talk in overall average quarter hour share for the month. Meanwhile, the format dropped slightly among 18-34s from JUNE to JULY (8.8-8.7) – its first drop in overall share since the Holiday 2015 survey, yet it still ranks second overall to Top 40 in persons 18-34.
Country’s traditional 25-54 target audience was up a tick from JUNE to JULY (7.6-7.7). All three demos, however, are down year-to-year at Country for a fourth consecutive month. So far, the SUMMER still belongs to Classic Hits in terms of momentum as it continues to build popularity, especially among Millennials (18-34), on a year-to-year basis.
