Tennessee Radio Hall Of Famer Doris Freeman Dead At 91

TENNESSEE RADIO HALL OF FAME Class Of 2014 inductee DORIS FREEMAN died SATURDAY, AUGUST 6th. She was 91. FREEMAN began her radio career in the 1930s and created her "COUSIN TUNY" character in the 1950s. Ms. FREEMAN become JACKSON, TN's first female radio advertising representative with WDXI/JACKSON, TN in 1948.
Visitation services for FREEMAN are scheduled for WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10th from noon-4:30p (CT) at ARRINGTON FUNERAL DIRECTORS and THURSDAY, AUGUST 11th from 4-7p (CT) at HOPE HALL AT NORTHSIDE METHODIST CHURCH. Funeral services will be held FRIDAY, AUGUST 12th at 11a (CT) at NORTHSIDE METHODIST CHURCH in JACKSON, TN with a private family burial at RIDGECREST CEMETERY.
