Kevin Slaten Exits KFNS/St. Louis, To Host Political Talk Show On Crosstown Station

KEVIN SLATEN's saga on the ST. LOUIS radio dial continues with the news that he is leaving the afternoon slot at MARKEL MEDIA Sports KFNS-A/ST. LOUIS to move to crosstown INSANE BROADCASTING COMPANY to host a political talk show. INSANE operates two talk stations in the market, KQQX-A and KZQZ-A.
At the beginning of his "THE KING'S COURT" show FRIDAY (8/15), SLATEN, after co-host OWEN SCHROYER announced his departure to join ALEX JONES' INFOWARS.COM as a reporter, told the audience that he will take two weeks off and is "trying to develop" a new political talk show for INSANE's BOB ROMANIK. Taking a moment to rip CARDINALS manager MIKE MATHENY ("he sucks"), he said "there are more important" subjects to talk about ("this country is in such bad shape, there are so many topics to talk about") and thanked KFNS owner RANDY MARKEL. He added that he would not do mornings on his new station.
SLATEN worked for INSANE principal ROMANIK at KQQZ in 2013 after his 2012 firing at KFNS and the experience ended in a war of words as SLATEN left to join WGNU-A. KFNS' operations are being taken over by TIM MCKERNAN, the host and operator of the weekday Sports format at crosstown WGNU-A, as of SEPTEMBER 1st.
