WHUR/Washington, D.C., 'The Cafe Mocha Show' To Salute Female Trailblazers

HOWARD UNIVERSITY Urban AC WHUR (96.3 FM)/WASHINGTON, DC and THE CAFÉ MOCHA SHOW, known as "Radio From A Woman's Perspective," will honor nine innovative female trailblazers, including empowerment guru LYANLA VANZANT, celebrity stylist KIM KIMBLE, philanthropist WANDA DURANT, community activist CORA MASTERS BARRY and WSSC CEO CARLA REID, among others, on AUGUST 25th.
The "Salute Her: Beauty Of Diversity Awards Luncheon," presented by TOYOTA GREEN INITIATIVE, will take place at the WALTER E. WASHINGTON CONVENTION CENTER. Built on the concept of women helping other women grow through shared experiences, the AWARDS luncheon will host the ORS HAIR CARE #NoStereotypes panel and support local domestic violence shelters via the MOCHA CARES FOUNDATION. The reception starts 11a to 12p (ET), followed by the AWARDS brunch from 12p to 2p (ET). This event is a precursor to the UBIQUITOUS HAIR, BEAUTY & HEALTH EXPO, which starts AUGUST 27th.
Proceeds from this event support the launch of its MOCHA CARES FOUNDATION to support housing and services to combat homelessness and domestic violence through mentorship programs.
