ROBERTFEDER.COM is reporting that JIMMY DECASTRO is leaving the Pres./GM post at TRIBUNE MEDIA News-Talk WGN-A/CHICAGO after three-and-a-half years. TRIBUNE BROADCASTING Pres./Broadcast Media LARRY WERT told FEDER that sales and programming for WGN will report directly to him until a decision is made whether to name a successor for DECASTRO.
DECASTRO told FEDER that he is leaving to focus on his syndication firm THE CONTENT FACTORY and to add sports representation to his portfolio. "I’ve done everything I can to respect and build on the legacy of this amazing place, and I believe I accomplished everything I set out to do,” DECASTRO told FEDER. “It’s been great fun to work with the incredibly talented people here. Now the time is right for me to go back and build something new.”
DECASTRO has been one of the more prominent media executives in CHICAGO for several decades, including his stint at the head of WLUP and his role in operating EVERGREEN MEDIA.
