A report at COURTHOUSE NEWS SERVICE says that CUMULUS MEDIA is being sued by a restaurant over comments allegedly made by unnamed hosts on Rock WKSM (99 ROCK)/FORT WALTON BEACH, FL.
According to the report, SUCKIN' DIESEL INC., owner of FORT WALTON BEACH restaurant PUNK 'N DRUBLIC, has filed suit claiming breach of contract, negligence and defamation; the plaintiff alleges that it paid for 15-second spots for the restaurant's grand opening, and says that the hosts said that the restaurant's customers were "hillbillies" and, incorrectly, that smoking was not allowed at the restaurant. The complaint further alleges that listeners were motivated by the comments to create a FACEBOOK page called "Hillbillies Against Being Punk in Drublic." The restaurant closed in JUNE 2015, two months after opening.
