RHONDA's KISS, an organization that helps cancer patients in need, put on its annual all-star benefit concert at the EL REY THEATRE in LOS ANGELES, THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 3rd, featuring a headline performance from WEEZER, as JOHNNY DEPP was presented with the first HEALING & HOPE AWARD, honoring an individual or group of local heroes who have a positive impact on cancer patients, survivors and those in need.
The L.A. collective THE HELLCAT SAINGTS performed a special opening set featuring LINKIN PARK's CHESTER BENNINGTON with special guests DAVE NAVARRO, JULIETTE LEWIS, MARK McGRATH and RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE's BRAD WILK. At the end of the night, DEPP's signed guitar was auctioned off for RHONDA's KISS. D
RHONDA'S KISS executive director KYLE STEFANSKI commented: "Our second-annual event in LOS ANGELES exceeded our every expectation. We are humbled by the support we've received and we are proud to be able to give back locally by supporting the CEDARS-SINAI SAMUEL OSCHIN COMPREHENSIVE CANCER INSTITUTE."
Proceeds from the concert event will benefit and further the mission of RHONDA's KISS, supporting programs to assist cancer patients in need, and helping those who receive a cancer diagnosis make ends meet during treatment. AMIN MIRHADI, M.D., from the CEDARS-SINAI SAMUEL OSCHIN COMPREHENSIVE CANCER INSTITUTE was on hand that night to give a speech regarding RHONDA's KISS.
