Report: Kanye West Hospitalized
November 21, 2016 at 6:25 PM (PT)
KANYE WEST has been taken to UCLA MEDICAL CENTER for psychiatric evaluation, TMZ reports. Law enforcement sources told the website that police responded to a call for a welfare check on the rapper around 1:20p; WEST wasn't at his home at the time.
Police sources also told TMZ that WEST did not want to go and had to be restrained when he was transported by paramedics to the hospital by ambulance. Sources connected to Kanye said he was getting checked out by one of his doctors for severe sleep deprivation when someone -- possibly the physician -- decided he needed to be admitted.
The hospitalization comes on the heels of WEST canceling last night's scheduled "make-up performance" at the FORUM only one night after walking off-stage in SACRAMENTO after 30 minutes, two songs and an elongated rant -- and later canceling the rest of the "SAINT PABLO" tour dates through the end of the year, including BROOKLYN's BARCLAYS CENTER on NEW YEAR'S EVE, with LIVE NATION offering refunds for all of them.
WEST canceled his performance last night in LOS ANGELES, just a day after abruptly walking off stage in a 30-minute appearance that included a long diatribe. “Tonight's show has been canceled,” stated a post from the venue. “Refunds at point of purchase.” The cancelation notice was posted about three hours before the show’s scheduled start.
The L.A. show was a make-up date after YEEZY walked off-stage NOVEMBER 3rd at the same venue due to a hoarse voice. Last WEDNESDAY (NOVEMBER 16th), he announced the new FORUM with free entry for fans who were at the NOVEMBER 3rd concert, as well as free tickets for local inner-city youth.
WEST's increasingly erratic behavior began during last THURSDAY's show in SAN JOSE, where he announced he hadn't voted in the recent presidential election, but supported DONALD TRUMP.
Two nights later, at the brand-new GOLDEN 1 CENTER in SACRAMENTO, he took the stage 90 minutes after the scheduled start time and performed two songs before launching into the profanity-filled tirade that fans recorded and uploaded to YOUTUBE.
Hovering above the crowd on a stage suspended from the ceiling, WEST called out corporate radio, GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, JAY Z, BEYONCE and HILLARY CLINTON.
“This ‘SAINT PABLO’ tour is the most relevant [thing] happening,” WEST railed. “If your old a– keeps following old models, your a– is going to get HILLARY CLINTON-ed. You might not like it, but you need to hear it.”
His next scheduled date was TOMORROW night at the SAVE MART CENTER in FRESNO.
