As first mentioned in an earlier ALL ACCESS Special Bulletin, STEEL CITY MEDIA Country KBEQ (Q104)/KANSAS CITY has tapped TODD NIXON as PD. He succeeds MIKE KENNEDY who retired at the end of 2016 (NET NEWS 9/28/16); KENNEDY will relinquish day-to-day duties for KBEQ but will continue to work closely with the station as lead consultant.
NIXON is a 22 year industry veteran who joins from iHEARTMEDIA Country WNCB/RALEIGH-DURHAM and sister Country WTQR/GREENSBORO-WINSTON SALEM, NC where he served as PD for both stations (NET NEWS 12/23/16). "I can't express how excited I am to join the team at the legendary Q104!" said NIXON. "So thankful to the FRISCHLING family and VP/GM MARC HARRELL for believing in me! Of course, MIKE KENNEDY, who made KBEQ legendary, built on a passion for Country music, its listeners, and an amazing staff. I am proud to get to carry the torch forward!"
"I am very excited to welcome TODD into the KBEQ family!" said HARRELL. "TODD brings a great track history with a wonderful energy and passion that I know will add to an already successful radio station." Congratulate NIXON here.
