The deadline for radio stations and groups to sign interim licensing deals with GLOBAL MUSIC RIGHTS passed last night. Stations without agreements that continue to play music from GMR's catalog, including compositions by DRAKE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN, JOHN LENNON, PRINCE, METALLICA, THE EAGLES, BRUNO MARS, PHARRELL WILLIAMS and many more could be subject to litigation if they continue to play their music.
GMR Pres. RANDY GRIMMETT offered the following statement, "Many radio stations across the U.S. have opted into an interim license with GMR. This includes CUMULUS, CBS, SAGA COMMUNICATIONS, EMMIS and COX MEDIA. Radio stations who signed and pay for the interim license are authorized to play the music GMR represents until the end of SEPTEMBER 2017. The term of the license is JANUARY 1st, 2017 through SEPTEMBER 30th, 2017."
All of GMR artists as of FEBRUARY 2nd, 2017 can be found here and a list of the songs can be found here.
