NIA Broadcasting Buys WTMP/Tampa; Price For Convergent-ICA Corpus Christi Deal: $2.48 Million

In a deal yet to appear in the FCC database, NEAL ARDMAN's NIA BROADCASTING is buying Classic Hip Hop WTMP-A/EGYPT LAKE-TAMPA, FL and Regional Mexican WTMP-F (LA MEXICANA)/DADE CITY, FL from SCOTT SAVAGE, receiver for TAMA BROADCASTING for $500,000.

In filings that did make it into the FCC database TODAY, the price at which DANIEL DUMAN's CONVERGENT BROADCASTING II, LLC is selling Top 40 KKPN (PLANET 102.3)/ROCKPORT-CORPUS CHRISTI, TX; Classic Rock KPUS (CLASSIC ROCK 104.5)/GREGORY-CORPUS CHRISTI, TX; and Classic Hits KAJE (107.3 JAKE FM)/INGLESIDE-CORPUS CHRISTI, TX to BARRY MARKS' ICA RADIO LTD. is $2.48 million plus an LMA before closing, according to the contract filed with the FCC; the price was undisclosed when the sale was announced on FRIDAY.

iHEARTMEDIA's CAPSTAR TX LLC has requested an extension of its Silent STA for WLRO-A/DENHAM SPRINGS, LA due to flood damage.

FRIENDS OF MARION COUNTY have filed for a Silent STA for low power KIQY-LP/SALEM, OR due to poor signal coverage.

SALEM MEDIA OF MASSACHUSETTS, LLC has applied for an extension of its Silent STA for W254BR/LIMCOLN, ME while it moves the translator to BOSTON.

LIGHT OF LIFE MINISTRIES, INC. has requested an extension of its Silent STA for W272BV/PORTLAND, ME due to difficulty securing a tower crew to build a new facility.

KOOR COMMUNICATIONS, INC. has closed on the sale of Country WCVR-A/RANDOLPH, VT;  Country WCNL-A/NEWPORT, NH; News-Talk WUVR-A and W255CF/LEBANON, NH; AC WCFR-A (SPRINGFIELD'S VARIETY WCFR) and W293BH/SPRINGFIELD, VT; and W234BN/CLAREMONT, NH to SUGAR RIVER FOUNDATION, INC. for $1.95 million

DELMARVA EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATION has closed on the sale of Contemporary Christian WZEZ (K-LOVE)/GOOCHLAND-RICHMOND, VA to EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION for $125,000.  

AUSTIN AIRWAVES, INC. has closed on the sale of the construction permit for noncommercial KTIM/ELLINGER, TX to TEXAS INDEPENDENT MEDIA, INC. for $18,822.72 reimbursement of out-of-pocket expenses.

And SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA PUBLIC RADIO has closed on the sale of K232EW/VENTURA, CA (now K258DE/APPLE VALLEY, CA) to MAJOR MARKET STATIONS, INC. for $40,000.  The buyer is moving the translator to rebroadcast Regional Mexican KWRN-A (LA PODEROSA 1550 AM)/APPLE VALLEY, CA.

Also, TARPON TOWERS II, LLC has closed on the purchase of three towers in Southeast GEORGIA from GEORGIA EAGLE MEDIA for $1.25 million.  MEDIA SERVICES GROUP's EDDIE ESSERMAN served as exclusive broker for the deal.

In CANADA, the CRTC has approved an FM retransmission station for the CBC's ICI RADIO-CANADA PREMIÈRE affiliate CBEF-F/WINDSOR, ON at SARNIA, ON.  The new station will use 1,886 watts at 104.7 meters above average terrain at 101.5 FM.
