San Diego Food Radio Feature 'Lick The Plate' Converts To Podcast
February 15, 2017 at 8:40 AM (PT)
The short-form food feature "LICK THE PLATE," which airs on ENTERCOM Alternative KBZT (FM94/9), AC KXSN (SUNNY 98.1), and Country KSON/SAN DIEGO, is changing its format to a podcast as "LICK THE PLATE RAW," effective FEBRUARY 27th. The feature, which also airs on BELL MEDIA Triple A CIDR (93.9 THE RIVER)/WINDSOR-DETROIT and as a column in the COAST NEWS in ENCINITAS, CA, is hosted by DAVID BOYLAN. A teaser feature promoting podcast episodes will continue to air ion the SAN DIEGO stations, and the podcast will reside on the stations' websites.
"While the past 6 years of recording LTP in the 2 minute format have been a great way to build the brand and the audience, the number one complaint I heard from listeners is that they want to hear more about my guests as culinary professionals tend to have interesting stories. That combined with the fact that culinary folks tend to converse in an unfiltered manner will make this the perfect format for letting their true personalities come through," said BOYLAN. "Not only will we be able to expose the talent driving the culinary community in SAN DIEGO to a much wider audience, but we will have an opportunity for a far greater impact for the show sponsor than we did in the past with our original content, events, and promotions surrounding LICK THE PLATE. This is a win-win for the show and ENTERCOM SAN DIEGO and we can't wait to re-launch in FEBRUARY."
ENTERCOM SAN DIEGO Dir./Sales KARYN CERULLI added, "LICK THE PLATE has grown in popularity to the point where it basically outgrew its 2 minute episodes. Guests and listeners wanted more and this made perfect sense. This format also suits DAVID's skills as a storyteller and his ability to coax guests to open up and feel comfortable with him which results in more entertaining content."
