BINNIE MEDIA Classical WBQX/THOMASTON-ROCKLAND, ME and its translator W245AA/PORTLAND, ME (WBACH) have dropped their Classical formats. WBQX's main signal is now airing Classic Hits as 106.9 FRANK FM, using the same format as sister WFNK-F (107.5 FRANK FM)/LEWISTON-PORTLAND and formerly airing on the less powerful signal of WBYA (105.5 FRANK FM)/ISLESBORO-ROCKLAND, while W245AA is now simulcasting Country WTHT (99.9 THE WOLF)/AUBURN-PORTLAND.
Last week, BINNIE MEDIA announced last week that it is taking the money from the spectrum incentive auction and shutting down its independent WBIN-TV (NH1)/DERRY-MANCHESTER. The station's news operation was abruptly shut down on FRIDAY, although it will continue online and for radio, while the TV station will be closed down in the coming months once the auction payment is finalized.
