In what seems like an annual event, SCRIPPS Country KFDI/WICHITA has won a Regional EDWARD R. MURROW AWARD in the “Breaking News” category, THE RADIO TELEVISION DIGITAL NEWS ASSOCIATION (RTDNA) announced TODAY (4/25).
“This is a significant recognition for the KFDI radio news team and our second Regional MURROW in as many years,” said SCRIPPS/WICHITA OM JUSTIN CASE. “Our ability to provide urgent information to our community in a breaking news situation is at the core of what we do, and it is truly rewarding to receive recognition of our efforts from the RTDNA.”
The winning entry came from the station’s coverage of a workplace shooting in HESSTON, KANSAS on FEBRUARY 25, 2016 and featured first reports of the shooting, live coverage, and eyewitness accounts from the scene. Listen here.
