GREAT EASTERN RADIO LLC is selling three stations -- Rock WLKZ (THE HAWK 104.9)/WOLFEBORO, NH; Sports WZEI (SPORTSRADIO 101.5)/MEREDITH, NH; and News-Talk WTPL (THE PULSE 107.7)/HILLSBORO, NH -- to DIRK NADON's LAKES MEDIA for an undisclosed price. RICHARD A. FOREMAN AND ASSOCIATES, INC. advised GREAT EASTERN in the deal, which has not yet appeared in the FCC database.
In deals showing up in the FCC list today, EDUCATIONAL MEDIA FOUNDATION is selling Contemporary Christian WEKV (K-LOVE)/SOUTH WEBSTER, OH to SOMERSET EDUCATIONAL BROADCASTING FOUNDATION for $130,000, 75% of which will go to NORTHERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY as part of the consideration for the purchase by EMF of Triple A WNKE/NEW BOSTON, OH.
ROLAND RUSTICUS is selling 55% of WYGR, LLC, licensee of Urban AC WYGR-A (GR 1530)/WYOMING, MI and W235BN (GR 94.9)/GRAND RAPIDS, MI to partners SCOTT R. PASTOOR and ERIC A. MILLS for $123,000 from PASTOOR and $213,000 for MILLS; RUSTICUS will retain 10%, with PASTOOR going from 35% to 55% and MILLS buying 35%.
TTI, INC. is selling W223BZ/TUSCALOOSA, AL to THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA for $125,000. The translator will rebroadcast noncommercial WUAL-F/TUSCALOOSA.
GENESEE MEDIA CORPORATION has applied for an STA to operate Sports WOKR-A (THE TEAM)/BROCKPORT, NY at reduced power of 75 watts daytime while it repairs excessive radiation in the direction of AUBURN BROADCASTING News-Talk WAUB-A/AUBURN, NY.
VCY AMERICA, INC. has filed for an STA to operate WJIC/ZANESVILLE, OH at reduced power (10% of licensed) while it repairs damage caused to its transmission equipment by storms.
And CALVARY CHAPEL OF TWIN FALLS, INC. has requested a Silent STA for K220HI/CLARKSTON, UT due to a missing transmitter and electrical problem in the transmitter building.
The Commission has also denied an "Informal Request for Extension of
Time" filed by THE ERIE RADIO COMPANY, LLC, which sought additional time to make its required down payment for a construction permit for a new FM at WESTFIELD, NY won in FM Auction 98. ERIE missed the AUGUST 26. 2015 deadline for completing payment of $107,100 and claimed “special circumstances” warranted an extension, pointing to unspecified problems its bank encountered in executing the wire transfer. The FCC is keeping $107,100 (which is 20% of the total net bid) from the money ultimately wired by ERIE as an interim default payment.
