AUDIBLE CHANNELS, the spoken-word original content (don't call them "podcasts") arm of AMAZON audiobook division AUDIBLE, is releasing a new series of audio versions of comedian JONATHAN KATZ's "DR. KATZ: PROFESSIONAL THERAPIST," with the new series,"DR. KATZ: THE AUDIO FILES," launching JUNE 8th.
KATZ and producer TOM SNYDER's show, which ran as an animated series (in "Squigglevision") on COMEDY CENTRAL through 2002, alternated between KATZ' "therapy sessions" with stand-up comics playing themselves and scenes from his home life with adult slacker son BEN (H. JON BENJAMIN) and at work with receptionist LAURA (LAURA SILVERMAN). The new series of 15-minute episodes will take place 20 years after the first but BEN will still be living with his father; among the "patients" will be WEIRD AL YANKOVIC, TED DANSON, SARAH SILVERMAN, PETE HOLMES, MARIA BAMFORD, EMO PHILIPS, ANDY KINDLER, RAY ROMANO, MARGARET CHO, DANA GOULD, and RON FUNCHES.
The series will be available to subscribers to AUDIBLE and AMAZON PRIME members and will also be sold on AMAZON as individual downloads for $4.95 per episode.
