SiriusXM Launches 'Carolina Shag,' Featuring Beach Music For Summer

SIRIUSXM will launch "CAROLINA Shag," a limited-run channel dedicated to the vintage R&B and pop sounds recognized throughout the Southeast and popularly known as beach music, TODAY.

"CAROLINA Shag" will feature music from artists like THE DRIFTERS, THE COASTERS, THE CLOVERS, THE EMBERS, THE TAMS, THE 5 ROYALES, THE DOMINOES, BILLY STEWART, JACKIE WILSON and EARL BOSTIC, among others.

The regional CAROLINA beach music genre was born in the ‘50s and remains a fan favorite. The genre has spread from being a regional phenomenon to an international sensation as its fans have moved across the country and around the world.  It sparked the swing dance craze known as ‘The SHAG.’  

"CAROLINA Shag" debuts TODAY and will air through THURSDAY, JULY 6th via satellite on channel 13, and through the SIRIUSXM app as well as online at siriusxm.com.
