THE KELLAR RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE, the first-ever Radio Talent Institute, now in its 11th year, returns this SUMMER, beginning TODAY, MONDAY, JUNE 5th.
Highlights of this year’s ten-day immersion of all things radio on the campus of APPALACHIAN STATE UNIVERSITY in BOONE, NC, includes a live broadcast of the syndicated ACE AND TJ MORNING SHOW, with the students as the live studio audience. The only day off-campus is WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7th, when the students tour THE CAROLINA PANTHERS facility and learn from Play-by-Play Announcer MICK MIXON, then move on to CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY with the Voice and President of PERFORMANCE RACING NETWORK DOUG RICE, doing a session for the students and taking them around the track at 100 mph.

The RAB Radio Marketing Professional Certification course will be led by management and sales executives from BEASLEY MEDIA GROUP, CURTIS MEDIA, RADIO ONE, CAPITOL BROADCASTING and ENTERCOM. Over 40 broadcasters will be teaching the 25 students accepted into the Institute who come from five different universities.

DAN VALLIE, who founded THE NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM said, “We have a fun, challenging, and changing industry, we need to embrace all technology to insure we continue to thrive into the 21st century, but the thing that always has and always will make the difference is people. That is why we do this, to find those young people who have a growing passion to be in the business, to connect them to the industry and the industry to them. This is the third of seven RADIO TALENT INSTITUTES this SUMMER, following GEORGIA and TENNESSEE, and coming up next are the HUBBARD RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at CENTRAL WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, CONFER RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at BLOOMSBURG UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA, THE KBA RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at WESTERN KENTUCKY UNIVERSITY and the MBA RADIO TALENT INSTITUTE at NORTHWEST MISSOURI STATE. The mission of THE NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM is to discover and coach the talent who can be hired today and will be the next generation of leaders in broadcasting. This innovative program has the broadcast profession, the universities, and THE NATIONAL RADIO TALENT SYSTEM working together to accomplish a unified mission. It’s the only program of its kind in the world."
