CAPITOL RECORDS’ superstar KATY PERRY, celebrated the release of her fifth studio album, “Witness,” in a special way. 

An exclusive, live fan event, KATY PERRY: WITNESS WORLD WIDE, gave fans around the world a sneak peek into her new album.  The event began streaming live on the singer’s YOUTUBE channel FRIDAY (6/9) and culminates today (6/12) at 4p (PST), with a concert performance in LOS ANGELES.

PERRY performed tracks off the album mixed with some of her biggest hits for an hour leading into the official release FRIDAY at 9p, giving insights into the making of each track and chatting with fans around the world.  She told fans she wrote over 40 songs for this record and that 17 made it into the album.

Highlights over the course of the weekend include appearances by JAMES CORDEN, SIA, AMERICA FERRERA, GORDON RAMSAY, JESSE TYLER FERGUSON and fellow musician KACEY MUSGRAVES who, along with PERRY, taught fans how to play KACEY’s “Follow Your Arrow” on SUNDAY (6/11).

Broadcasting the weekend event required 41 cameras throughout a space which featured nine full rooms, including the sunken living room, kitchen, dining room, meditation loft, glam room, jungle gym, KATY’s bedroom, rainbow terrace and blogger room.

“Witness” hit number one in under an hour after release and is on course for a #1 debut on SOUNDSCAN in the week ending JUNE 15th. A #1 debut would give the singer her third chart topper, following 2013’s "Prism" and 2010’s “Teenage Dream”.
