Missouri Broadcasters Association Hands Out 2017 Awards, Inducts 4 Into Hall Of Fame

The MISSOURI BROADCASTERS ASSOCIATION honored 184 TV and radio stations and 4 Hall of Fame inductees at its 2017 Awards Banquet SATURDAY (6/10) in BRANSON.
Entering the Hall of Fame were former ST. LOUIS BLUES voice DAN KELLY, KWTO-A/SPRINGFIELD, MO founder RALPH FOSTER, journalist MARCI BURDICK, and KMBC-TV/KANSAS CITY News Anchor LARRY MOORE. MBA President/CEO MARK GORDON said, “The Hall of Fame is a celebration of the past accomplishments of four amazing broadcasters who set the standard for today’s new generation of MISSOURI radio and television broadcasters, who were also recognized for their tremendous work over the past year.
Winning Stations of the Year were ENTERCOM Hot AC KZPT(99.7 THE POINT)/KANSAS CITY and UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI NBC affiliate KOMU-TV/COLUMBIA.
Air Talent radio winners were: Large Market, HUBBARD Adult Hits WARH (106.5 THE ARCH)/ST. LOUIS' "SPENCER'S NEIGHBORHOOD"; Medium Market, WITHERS Classic Rock KGMO/CAPE GIRARDEAU's STEVE THOMAS; Small Market, E-COMMUNICATIONS Classic Hits KHOM (THE TRAIN)/SALEM, AR-WEST PLAINS, MO's "ROCKIN' RANDALL MORNING EXPRESS."
For Complete Newscast, CBS RADIO News-Talk KMOX-A/ST. LOUIS took large market honors, while SCRIPPS Country KTTS-F/SPRINGFIELD won the medium market title and ALPHA MEDIA Country KTJJ (J98 THE BOOT)/FARMINGTON won for small markets. KMOX also won large market honors for Breaking News.
