CHROMEO, AUSTRALIA's RÜFÜS DU SOL, CUT COPY and RICHIE HAWTIN are among the first 42 acts named for the 2017 fall edition of CRSSD FESTIVAL, to be held at SAN DIEGO's WATERFRONT PARK on SEPTEMBER 30th and October 1st.
This is the sixth edition of the EDM marathon, which debuted in 2015 as a showcase for left-of-center house and techno performers.
The lineup for the 21-and-up festival boasts an international flavor, including U.K. DJ and producer MURA MASA, FRENCH house music star FKJ (aka FRENCH KIWI JUICE), GERMAN techno DJ MARCEL DETTMANN, RUSSIAN DJ JULIA GOVOR, BULGARIAN DJ KINK and VIENNA-based producer/singer-songwriter SOHN.
Tickets, priced at $115, go on sale SATURDAY (JUNE 24th) at NOON (PT) through the event’s website.
The first CRSSD FESTIVAL was produced by SAN DIEGO’s FNGRS CRSSD and GOLDENVOICE, with FINGRS CRSSD solely handling subsequent iterations. The opening day of the first festival drew a capacity audience of 15,000. A majority of the subsequent editions have drawn sell-out or near-capacity crowds.
Attendance dipped when CRSSD FESTIVAL’s second edition in 2015 was headlined by rock bands FLAMING LIPS and TV ON THE RADIO, according to the SAN DIEGO UNION TRIBUNE, suggesting EDM fans are picky about their musical choices.
Other CRSSD FESTIVAL headliners in the past have included GRAMMY winner FLUME and pioneering DJ/producer GIORGIO MORODER.
