LAGUNA RADIO INC. Alternative KXRN-LP (KX 93.5)/LAGUNA BEACH, CA' KXCLUSIVE raised more than $80,000 for the station, welcoming more than 300 people to the MONTAGE GRAND LAWN on JUNE 16th for an evening featuring performances by RITA RUDNER, LED ZEPAGAIN and food from celebrity chefs.
With an auction, a “fund-a-need” ask, and ticket sales, the non-profit station raised the money, to be applied directly to its operations, including its emergency preparedness services and critical information dissemination.
The station's TYLER RUSSELL commented, "We've gotten nothing but positive responses from our attendees. Turns out, people like a party on the MONTAGE lawn! We know there are a lot of nonprofits to consider supporting in LAGUNA BEACH, so we are grateful that independent radio is in people's hearts, and we look forward to growing this year by year."
LAGUNA BEACH MAYOR TONI ISEMAN took the stage to encourage the crowd to donate, asking the question, “Can you imagine LAGUNA BEACH without a radio station?”
The KX 93.5 staff plans to continue this event in the early summer of each year. Its next fundraiser will be KXFEST on DECEMBER 2nd, the major concert in IRVINE BOWL that previously welcomed KENNY LOGGINS and the BEACH BOYS. This year’s band will be announced in SEPTEMBER.
